NSD1029 How to copy a value between two controls in a Tab from Identity Manager


Fact

Identity Manager – Standalone Client

Identity Manager – Web Edition

Situation

To copy a value from one control to another in a Tab from Identity Manager can be useful to update a hidden control with a value from another control.

Solution

1. Create a new textfield control with the attribute name set to the attribute to copy to:

Note, if you are using this function in the Event Trigger – Presave LDAP  you need to put a default value in the text field control

2. Use a external filter with the keyword LDAP in both the javaclass and method field.

3.  Use the PreSave trigger and add a Variable by selecting the Variable button to select which control value to copy from:




In this example, whenever a save is executed, the value in the cn attribute will be copied to the description attribute.
