Situation

This document explains how to install Identity Manager Webb Edition as a Service  in Windows 2008 64-bit version.

Solution

Step 1: Identity Manager Webb Edition as a Service  in Windows 2008 64-bit version

   1. Install:

      Java SE Development Kit (JDK) 6 Update 10 for 64-bit Windows

      http://java.sun.com/javase/downloads/index.jsp

   2. If Identity Manager Webb Edition not already is installed ,please download the software without JAVA:

             http://www.nordicedge.se/download/idm/idm-3.6/index.html

   3. Create a  tomcat6-im- folder parallel to the existing tomcat5-folder, ( "C:Program FilesNordicedgeIMtomcat6-im")

   4. Download tomcat6 (32bit)

              Choose "zip" :


  5. Unzip the file.Copy all files and folders to the newly created tomcat6-im folder .

   6. Open "C:Program FilesNordicedgeIMtomcat6-imbin".
      Change name on file:

      tomcat6.exe to tomcat6.exe.32bit  and tomcat6w.exe to tomcat6w.exe.32bit

   7. Download 64-bit tomcat6.exe and tomcat6w.exe (add file extension ".exe" to the downloaded files)

   8. Copy the 64-bit tomcat6.exe and tomcat6w.exe to the tomcat6-im folder

   9. Install the Tomcat service by running "C:Program FilesNordicedgeIMtomcat6-imbinservice.bat install"

  10. Open services.msc and make sure that you can start and stop the service (Apache Tomcat)

  11. Double click "C:Program FilesNordicedgeIMtomcat6-imbintomcat6w.exe"
      Edt the path to "Java Virtual machine" according to following picture:

12. Paths in dseditor.properties

      Open "C:\Program Files\Nordicedge\IM\tomcat6-im\NEIDMgmt\dseditor.properties"
      Replace all paths that points to tomcat5 with tomcat6

  13. New section in webb.xml
      open "C:\Program Files\Nordicedge\IM\tomcat6-im\conf\web.xml"

  14. Copy folders from tomcat5-im to tomcat6-im

       Copy following  folders from tomcat5-im to tomcat6-im

      "C:\Program Files\Nordicedge\IM\tomcat5-im\NEIDMgmt"
      "C:\Program Files\Nordicedge\IM\tomcat5-im\webapps"
